- Look for the full-length walking Liberty and a date from 1916–1947.
- The denomination is HALF DOLLAR. Original standard mass is 12.5 g at 90% silver.
- American Silver Eagles reuse the Walking Liberty design. They are one-troy-ounce bullion coins and do not use this half-dollar preset.
Keep collector condition intact: do not clean a coin to identify it. Use measured weight for a worn collection.
Eligible Walking Liberty half dollar issues
Read HALF DOLLAR on the reverse of this 1916–1947 series. Its 11.25 g fine silver is much less than the one fine troy ounce in a Silver Eagle, despite their shared Walking Liberty design. Two halves make $1 face; twenty make $10.
