Identify the denomination, portrait and date
Read UN PESO, then compare the Phrygian cap or Morelos portrait and the issue period. The .720 cap peso, .500 Morelos peso, 1950 .300 peso and later .100 Morelos peso have different gross masses. A peso denomination alone does not identify its silver.
For Libertad, check 1 ONZA, PLATA PURA and LEY .999 beside the winged Victory design. Gold Libertads, fractional sizes, other denominations and modern bimetallic pesos need different specifications.
